Terms of service
Last updated: September 15, 2026
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of tyeearchery.ca and any purchase you make from us. The site and store are operated by Tyee Archery, the archery side of Tyee Marine, with shops in Kamloops and Campbell River, British Columbia ("Tyee", "we", "us", "our"). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement, including British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. Where these Terms and that law conflict, the law wins.
1. Who can buy from us
You must be the age of majority in your province or territory to place an order, or have a parent or guardian place it for you. We may decline to sell certain products, including broadheads, knives and other bladed items, where we are not satisfied the sale is appropriate or lawful.
2. Products and descriptions
We work to describe every product accurately, including specifications such as draw length, draw weight, spine, sizing and colour. Much of that information comes from the manufacturer, and manufacturers change specifications, finishes and packaging without notice. Colours on screen vary from the real thing. If something you receive does not match its listing, our refund policy covers it.
Some products are made or set up to your specification, including bows set to your draw length and weight, arrows cut to length, and anything configured in our Custom Bow Builder, Custom Arrow Builder or Custom Camo Builder. You are responsible for the specifications you choose. If you are unsure of a measurement, ask us before you order and a technician will help you work it out.
3. Prices, currency and taxes
All prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable GST, PST or HST is added at checkout based on your shipping or pickup address.
If a product is listed at an incorrect price because of an error, we will contact you before shipping and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. We will not charge you more than the price you agreed to without your consent.
4. Counter-tariff surcharge
Canada applies counter-tariffs to certain goods of United States origin. Where a product in your order is affected, a separately itemised surcharge is added at checkout so you can see it before you pay. Products we identify as tariff-free carry no surcharge. The surcharge reflects duty we pay to bring those goods in; it is not a markup.
5. Orders, stock and lead times
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm your order by email. We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if a product has been discontinued by the manufacturer, if we suspect fraud, or if we cannot lawfully sell it to you.
Many products are ordered in for you after you buy them rather than held on our shelf. Each product page shows an estimated time to ship. Items in stock at our shops typically ship within 48 hours. Special-order items take longer, and bows are set up and shot in by a technician before they leave, which is part of that time.
While your order is waiting to ship, we will email you once a week with its status.
You may cancel any order that has not yet shipped for a full refund by contacting us. If we cannot ship an item within the estimated time shown when you ordered, you may cancel that item for a full refund even if it is a custom build.
6. Payment
You agree to provide current and accurate payment and contact details. The payment methods we accept are shown at checkout. Your payment is processed securely by our payment providers; we do not store your full card details.
7. Shipping and local pickup
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout from your address and shown before you pay. Delivery times after shipping are estimates provided by the carrier. Ownership of and responsibility for your order pass to you once it is delivered to the address you gave us.
You may choose free local pickup at Tyee Archery in Kamloops or Tyee Marine in Campbell River. We will email you when your order is ready. Please bring your order confirmation and identification.
8. Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: if an item arrives wrong or damaged, we cover return shipping and refund you in full. If you change your mind, you pay return shipping, and we refund the full product price once the item reaches us complete and in sellable condition. Items built to your specification, and bows cut or set to your draw, are final sale, subject to your cancellation rights in section 5.
9. Safety and responsible use
Archery and hunting equipment can cause serious injury or death if misused. By buying from us you agree to:
- read and follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety warnings;
- never dry-fire a bow, which can destroy it and injure the shooter or bystanders;
- use arrows of the correct spine and length for your bow;
- inspect your equipment before every use and stop using anything damaged;
- have bow tuning, pressing and string or cable work done by a qualified technician;
- comply with all applicable hunting regulations, licensing requirements and local laws, including those governing broadheads, crossbows and knives.
If you are unsure how to set up or use a product, contact us. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
10. Warranties
Most products carry their manufacturer's warranty, and the terms of that warranty are set by the manufacturer. If you have a warranty claim, contact us and we will help you pursue it. Modifications, improper tuning by someone other than a qualified technician, dry-firing and misuse may void a manufacturer's warranty. Any warranty or condition that applies under law and cannot be excluded continues to apply.
11. Reviews and other content you submit
You may post product reviews, photos and questions. You confirm that what you submit is your own honest experience, is lawful, and does not infringe anyone else's rights. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and share it in connection with our store and marketing. We do not edit reviews to change their meaning. We may remove content that is abusive, unlawful, off-topic, spam, or that contains personal information about others.
12. Our store assistant and online tools
Our store assistant, product builders and spec search draw on information published in our product listings. They are meant to help you shop and are not a substitute for being fitted or advised by a qualified archery technician. Recommendations may be incomplete, and a product that does not publish a specification will not appear in results for it. Before you rely on a recommendation for a significant purchase, confirm it with our staff.
13. Intellectual property
The content on this site, including text, photographs we have produced, graphics, logos, and the design of our builders and tools, belongs to us or to our licensors. Manufacturer names, logos and product images belong to their respective owners. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
14. Prohibited uses
You may not use the site to break any law; to submit false, fraudulent or misleading information; to interfere with the site's security or operation; to scrape, harvest or bulk-copy product data or content; or to resell products purchased from us in breach of any manufacturer restriction that has been disclosed to you.
15. Third-party links and services
The site may link to or rely on services run by others, such as payment processors, shipping carriers, review providers and manufacturer websites. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or the products you buy, including injury caused by misuse, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, or unqualified modification. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned. This section does not limit our liability for our own negligence where the law prohibits that, or any right you have that consumer protection law says cannot be waived.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of any product, or content you submit, except to the extent they were caused by our own fault.
18. Privacy
How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of British Columbia, unless consumer protection law in your province or territory gives you the right to bring it where you live.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order applies to that order. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
